CREATE-X’s Big Move to the Biltmore
The next chapter in Georgia Tech’s entrepreneurship journey is taking shape at the iconic Biltmore. CREATE-X, the Institute’s flagship entrepreneurship and venture-building program, has officially established its headquarters in the heart of Midtown’s innovation corridor. This strategic move marks a significant advancement in Georgia Tech’s commitment to cultivating student entrepreneurship. It aligns with the City of Atlanta’s bold ambition to become one of the top five startup cities in the United States.
“This milestone underscores Georgia Tech’s commitment to expanding entrepreneurship programs that drive innovation across some of the most critical frontiers of our time,” said Rahul Saxena. “From deep tech and artificial intelligence to medicine, national security, energy and sustainability, neuroscience, the creative industries, and design, CREATE-X reflects our belief that entrepreneurship is a powerful catalyst for real-world impact.”
Since its inception, CREATE-X has empowered over 34,000 students representing 38 academic majors to launch over 650 student-founded startups. Together, these ventures have reached a total valuation of more than $2.4 billion, highlighting CREATE-X’s impact as a powerful engine of innovation and economic mobility.
The establishment of a physical home marks a pivotal evolution for CREATE-X. Since its founding, the program has empowered students to transform bold ideas into viable startups through a unique blend of academic programming, mentorship, and hands-on learning. Previously, CREATE-X operated without a centralized hub—its makerspace, classrooms, and staff offices were spread across multiple buildings on campus. While this distributed model supported growth, it limited opportunities for deeper connection, collaboration, and community-building. Now, with a permanent headquarters at the Biltmore Innovation Center, CREATE-X unites its makerspace and office functions under one roof and gains a larger, dedicated space for community gatherings. This new home enhances visibility, fosters a stronger sense of identity, and positions student entrepreneurs at the heart of Atlanta’s innovation ecosystem.
CREATE-X is now located steps from Georgia Tech’s campus and nestled within a dense network of research labs, venture capital firms, corporate innovation centers, and co-working spaces. The new headquarters positions student entrepreneurs at the epicenter of inspiration and execution.
“The new space serves as a critical strategic connector,” said Sivakumar “Siva” Raghupathy, Vice President of Commercialization. “By bringing student startups into close proximity with key stakeholders, innovative ideas, and essential resources, we’re creating an environment where early-stage ventures can truly flourish. In fact, CREATE-X has launched more than 100 startups each year for the last three years, underscoring the strength and momentum of our entrepreneurial ecosystem. This marks just the beginning. Georgia Tech’s broader innovation portfolio will continue to expand within the Biltmore, solidifying its role as a hub for transformative impact.”
As CREATE-X settles into its new home, the stories, companies, and breakthroughs emerging from this entrepreneurial launchpad are highly anticipated. This is a testament to Georgia Tech’s ongoing transformation into a national leader in innovation and entrepreneurial education and a powerful signal of what’s to come.
